Support
Using SurvivalSync
SurvivalSync is currently in development. This page documents the intended support behavior and data sources for application registration and testing.
Offline behavior
Inventory creation, quantity changes, search, D-day countdowns, conservative readiness calculations, barcode-cache results, and expiration OCR remain available without an internet connection. Optional CloudKit collaboration and remote barcode providers retry when connectivity is available.
Readiness estimate
The household estimate counts only non-expired entries with a measured water volume or calorie value. It divides stock by 3 liters and 2,000 kcal per person per day, uses whichever resource supports fewer days, and rounds down to full days. Unmeasured entries are reported separately instead of being guessed. This is a conservative planning aid, not a survival or food-safety guarantee.
Finding an AirTag-associated item
- Open the inventory item and note the saved AirTag name.
- Open Apple's Find My app.
- Choose Items, select that AirTag name, then use Play Sound or Find Nearby when available.
AirTag ownership and sharing are managed separately in Find My. See Apple's AirTag sharing guide.
Product-data sources
Japanese JAN lookup may use Rakuten Product Search and Rakuten Ichiba Item Search. Global lookup may use Open Food Facts and Open Products Facts. These services are queried only after the local cache and SurvivalSync barcode record do not have a match.
Emergency use
Always follow current instructions from local authorities. SurvivalSync is an inventory-planning tool and does not provide emergency alerts, medical advice, evacuation orders, or an assurance that supplies are safe to consume.
Project operator and contact
Operator: SurvivalSync Project, an independent iOS application project. Product, privacy, and API-provider inquiries use the verified developer contact maintained in the application's official distribution and service-registration records; a personal email address is not published on this pre-release site.
